Team FördeRacer is a university team from Kiel University of Applied Sciences. Students from different faculties are represented in our team. This composition allows us to learn and benefit from a diverse and wide-ranging know-how.

For us, everything revolves around water sports. In recent years, our focus has been on the International Waterbike Regatta (IWR), where teams from all over Europe put self-designed and built waterbikes to the test. Every year, we also compete there with our two boats to measure ourselves against other universities. Currently, we are tackling a new topic and thus a new challenge – sustainability and environmental protection: we are building a sailing boat that consists of at least 75% sustainable and renewable raw materials. Our goal is to participate in the 1001 VELACUP in Italy, where sustainably built sailing boats compete against each other. The construction phase is already behind us. At the moment we are in the final stages of production. Our vision is to design and build more boats in the future and to optimise our existing constructions.
